Jonathan Gregory JD Davis (born April 27, 1993) is an American professional baseball third baseman for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the New York Mets.
Davis attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he played college baseball for the Cal Poly Mustangs. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the third round of the 2014 MLB draft, and traded to the Mets in 2015.
Davis made his MLB debut with the Mets in 2017. He has since established himself as a solid hitter, with a career batting average of .273 and an on-base percentage of .350.
Davis is a versatile player who can play both third base and first base. He is also a good fielder, with a career fielding percentage of .984.
